Offbeat Entertainment, Gary Dean Smith, Rock Band Network

GARY DEAN SMITH
Rockband Sessions
Gary is placing two of his original songs with Offbeat Entertainment for inclusion in the Rockband Video Game library.   Gary's original "Diana Don't Slow Down" will appear in Rockband Country library and the soulful,  funkified "Fair Weather Friend' has been accepted in the Rockband Blues library.  The songs were recorded over the recent Memorial Day weekend at BackBone Studio in Loveland Colorado.  They will be available for Rockband gamers in the Summer of 2011. The songs will be available for download on iTunes in mid June.

The Backbone sessions were great fun and produced some killer music. Producer Jason Larson did a wonderful job handling the tunes.  Veteran musicians featured on the recordings include bassist Kim Stone, drummer Brian McCrae, Bobby Cole on piano and keys.  Doug Livingston layed down a fine pedal steel performance on "Diana Don't Slow Down".  Gary and Jason each played guitar parts on both songs while Brent Bond and Matthew Spencer layed down soulful horn lines on "Fair Weather Friend".  But  the most fun and spine tingling sounds came from the performances of The BlackSwan Singers, Coco Brown, Shelly Lindsey and Carl Carwell.  It was a work filled weekend and it came off like a dream.  Take a look at the pictures from the sessions on the "Photos" page here.

Wire Frame Review

Colorado  Rock band "WireFrame" Phases Album is a melodic rock album, capturing the bands  new music direction and outstanding musicianship.  "Change The World' is my favorite song  on the album, melodic, powerful vocals and strong multi genre push in their sound.  The band has surpassed themselves in this new release. I am a  fan!   The eye  with dangling apples on the cover shows you that the band has their eye on the future. As we know 'Apple' is the future ...

The power of "WireFrame" is the outstanding musicians only complimented by the strong vocals by "WireFrame" is a Loveland Colorado band I will be watching this next year. I would like to see the band doing more shows to support this great work.

Before Nine @ The Rutledge Nashville TN. July 13th 2011

Before Nine Band has had quite the year with signing a major management deal with Bob McCutcheon with the Entertainment Group. This is not the only highlight for the band this year, Before Nine has their song 'I' being featured in the Rock Band Network. Great things keep coming to this hard working, driven band.
In July the band will be showcasing at The Rutledge in Nashville TN. A must see show as the band brings
an exuberant show to their fans and will also be debuting new tunes for the event.

More about Before Nine....
Before Nine has been a leading  gulf coast music force pumping out its modern rock sound and sweeping through the southeastern states for some time now, but is soon to storm all fifty states. The band seamlessly merges an edgy sound and soulful songwriting in a way that touches audiences both live and on the radio. The transformation of the band in 2008 has been an extraordinary collaboration of musical talent. Founding members Chris Barker (Guitar) and Dwayne Barker (Bass) of Lucedale, MS added local Mobile musicians, David Merriam (Vocals), and Mark Merriam (Guitar) and Billy D (Drums) completing the fusion that seemed to set the band a blaze. The unique style of the band has a universal appeal to many different genres and is large market radio friendly. The songs are dynamic with great guitar riffs, strong hooks, powerful lyrics and amazing harmonies. The profound abilities of the band members and their devotion to the integrity of their music have proven to keep their fans wanting more. The members all love writing music, recording, but are real performers and have a passion for live performance. It would not be uncommon to see one of the band members in the audience during a show singing or giving it up on the guitar or bass while the drums are rocking out.

Before Nine has performed at Mobile’s Bayfest, the Mullet Fest and many other local and regional festivals. They have also played such venues as The Swamp in Ft.Walton Beach, FL and Club Le Vela in Panama City, FL. They have had the pleasure of sharing a stage with a variety of national touring bands. This year the band is gearing up to expand their tour schedule and look forward to getting their music to a worldwide audience.

Indy Band Reaul new album " Casino Hearts"

The Indianapolis based band Reaul, never displeases, and upon listening to their  new EP “Casino Heart” this piece of work is far and above their best effort to date.  Each song is power driven edgy rock, with compelling vocals and lyrics.  “Casino Hearts” is a more complex side to Reaul creating their music style, the boys have added layers upon layers of outstanding musicianship to Rick Connell’s vocals.
You will become a fan after you listen to “Casino Hearts” and  find a favorite in one of these 5 songs if not all. I believe the strongest song on the EP.  And single here is “Circle City Lights” just love this tune. The song is driven with hooks, catchy lyrics and great musicians.
Compare this band to part “One Republic”, with a bit of  “Amberlin” but with the new sound of REAUL ! A Must Listen!!!

Top 10 for 2011
Highly Recommended!
